SHORT BIO

Clea Simon is the Boston Globe-bestselling author of three nonfiction books and 30 mysteries. Her crime fiction is divided between cozy mysteries (most recently her “Witch Cats of Cambridge” series) and psychological suspense, including the recent Hold Me Down (a Massachusetts Center for the Book “must read”). A graduate of Harvard University, she has contributed to publications ranging from Salon.com and Harvard Magazine to Rolling Stone, Yankee, and The New York Times. Born and raised in New York, she now lives in Somerville, Massachusetts, with her husband, the writer Jon S. Garelick, and one (1) cat, Thisbe. Clea Simon was born and raised in East Meadow, N.Y. She graduated  Harvard University with an A.B. in English and American Language and Literature magna cum laude. She then earned a certificate from the Columbia University School of Journalism summer magazine writing and editing program. She is married to the writer Jon S. Garelick, and they live in Somerville, Massachusetts.

She is a member of Sisters in Crime, the Mystery Writers of America, National Book Critics Circle, and the Cat Writers Association.
